About Lai S Smith

My interest in photography began in the optometrist's office; I was fitted for glasses. This was not fun, however, the camera was. Growing-up in the beauty of the Northwest paved the way for nature and architectural imagery. My love of art was further developed through high school and an internship with the Kansas City Star. I also enjoy working with children, because early on, they were my first subjects and they always keep me on my toes.

Photography allows me to express and share my images with the world around me. My first publicly displayed prints were exhibited in the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. I have also received a place showing in a photography magazine and enjoy creating submissions.
